  The Monadnock Building, located at 53 West Jackson Blvd., is a historic proto-skyscraper in the Loop district of downtown Chicago, Illinois. When it was completed in 1893, it was the world’s largest office building. It remains the tallest commercial building in the world with masonry load-bearing walls. It is located directly across the street from the Dirksen Federal Building and the Chicago Metropolitan Correctional Center. It served as Durkin & Roberts’ home for almost twenty years and is now used as a satellite office during trials and for other necessary Loop meetings. |
